Garcia-Ruiz, Catwoman

In the non-catwoman life, Selina Kyle is an unappreciated secretary not because she’s stupid but just really insecure. The scene where everyone is having a meeting and Shreck is proposing his power plant to Bruce Wayne, Selina has a suggestion to make but instead she backs down even though she knows that she is correct. That shows how she’s not secure and confident of the person she really is in her life. I think the fact that she’s a female also plays a part into why she feels the need to back down from speaking with a group of men. The night that Selina found relevant documents about the power plant Shreck was proposing, she was caught and Shreck pushed her out of the window causing her some injuries. She then becomes Catwoman after a group of stray cats surround her and begin to nibble on her. In Selina’s new character, Catwoman, she is now seen as the very daring, sexy, and intelligent woman…basically a femme fatale. Catwoman is the side of Selina that she wishes was somewhat her normal life. Everything she does, all the crime she commits is because she wants that attention that she was never given in her personal life and the workforce. She uses Catwoman to seduce Batman in order to defeat him from being the known hero of Gotham City. She wants to be the one in power. There’s a scene where Batman and Catwoman confront each other and Catwoman manages to be on top of batman. That scene shows how she seduces Batman in order to get what she wants.
