Lilly - Catwoman
Everything about Catwoman is complex, but only once Selina dies. Selina was a smart but awkward woman. She was a bit of a push over and didn't stand up for herself well. Selina wasn't a woman that was very noticed or desired until she becomes Catwoman. After dying, she is basically rebirthed as who she thought she wanted to be. When Selina gets back to her apartment she behaves oddly, then when the realization of what happened finally settles she breaks down. She starts to paint the walls black, trying to make her surroundings match how she now feels and sees the world, as darkness. This is when Catwoman is born. Selina constructs an outfit that is visibly sewn together by pieces of a black rain coat, representing the way a dead person would be sew together. Catwoman gives Selina the confidence to be strong and attractive. Even though Bruce has made the acquaintance of Selina, as Batman, you can see how much more interested he is in her once Catwoman is apart of Selina. Through out the time that Bruce and Selina are going out you witness moments where she is uncertain of who she is. They are very similar in many ways, when the masks go on they become different people with very different agendas. Batman is dark but stands for justice while Catwoman is on the line between good and evil. Some would consider her self-serving and in a way she is. She has a vendetta against Shreck but with good reason. Shreck pushed her out a window attempting to kill her and plans to suck all the power from Gotham, bankrupting it. Batman in some ways is a hypocrite. He doesn't agree with Catwoman's method of justice even though he blows things up and kills people. Catwoman sees him as something standing in the way of her vengeance. She teams up with Penguin to get Batman out of her way but soon realizes she doesn't want to work with him. Penguin kills an woman when he told Catwoman that they were just going to scare her. At the point, Catwoman realizes she doesn't have the same goals and ideas of doing things as Penguin. This shows what her sense of justice is like. In the end, the moment comes where she has to choose to or not to kill Shreck, and Batman tries to stop her but not forcibly. Even though they who is under each others mask, Batman takes off his mask in hopes that it will help her see that see doesn't need to kill Shreck. Unfortunately though, it doesn't stop her and Shreck dies.

I agree that Catwoman is a very complex character once she is reborn much like the Joker was in the last film. The scene in which she goes nuts and transforms into Catwoman is a very effective one in this case to show her character development and complexity. The image of the dead person being sewn together while she is sewing the cat suit and kind of marking the old Selina's death is also very effective in it's use. I agree that Catwoman is very similar to Batman and that he is a hypocrite because he does almost the same thing in the first Batman movie that Selina is doing now. He has a vendetta against the Joker and kills him instead of sending him to jail just like Selina does to Shreck. However, Selina is not as bad as Penguin as you point out because she has better morals than he does and she only wants to kill one person.
