Limbo was a "Prime" example of hatred towards the humans from the apes. At the beginning of the movie we see Limbo as a greedy slave trader who loathes humans with a dedication . Limbo is the first main character whose opinion about humans is directly stated setting the voice of the apes throughout the movie. Most apes at least . Meaning that the main focus is that Apes hate Humans, and limbo is the first MAIN character that shows it . His attitude towards humans is a more belligerent one other than most apes, excluding Thade, by the more severe treatment he bestows upon humans; showing his ironic superiority through kicking, pushing, punishing, whipping, selling, etc. He shows us the treatment of the humans right of the back, which is uniform throughout out most of the other apes, but as his job title suggests, he treats humans as mere products rather than "Animals " like the other apes. His intelligence is lacking, but his experience with selling the humans is vast, as he caught on to the fact Leo is definitely a clever "product" . Even though Leo didn't exactly show his intelligence during his capture, Limbo still knew to keep an eye on him (maybe because of Leo's articles of clothing ) . He labels his "products" by picking out strong ones, and selling the stronger humans for a higher price, which is in direct relation to how slavery was in the late 1800's. We had the slave traders who would hand pick African Americans by exterior selling them to different plantations , at price that was directly related to the quality of the slaves. Limbo stripped the humans of their civil rights , used them as a way to make money. BUT Limbo learned what it was like to be a slave and to be human. By the movie's end Limbo pondered a future world of trade with humans as he was not a principled ape, and while he was happy with the old order, he would adapt to any situation where he could make money.
Limbo is a character that was developed through the many conflicts he experienced , conflicts of how the civil liberties and slavery went one and one till the very end of the movie. It malted an ape that was more understanding to civil liberties due to his enslavement by Leo.
